Earlier today, a missile from Yemen crossed into central Israel, landing in an open area without causing injuries. Israel’s emergency services reported that nine people sustained minor injuries while rushing to seek shelter. The sounds of booms in the region were attributed to Israel’s missile defense system intercepting the missile.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that their missile had evaded Israel’s defenses and hit a military target in Jaffa. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the Houthis of severe consequences for any attempt to harm Israel.
In response, Hamas praised the Houthis for their missile strike, framing it as a natural reaction to Israel’s ongoing actions in Gaza. The Houthis have been actively attacking Israeli-linked targets in the region, citing solidarity with Palestinians. These actions have disrupted shipping routes, forcing vessels to take longer, costlier paths around Southern Africa. Despite military interventions from the U.S.-led coalition, the Houthis continue to launch missiles and drones toward Israel.
