Former Minister of Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor has been arrested. He is a named accused in a case filed at Mirpur Police Station.
On Sunday night (September 15), at around 11 PM, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him from Bailey Road.
Notably, Asaduzzaman Noor, a renowned cultural figure, has been representing the Awami League in parliament since 2001. In the most recent 12th National Parliamentary election, he was elected as a Member of Parliament from Nilphamari-2 constituency.
After the Awami League won the 10th National Parliamentary Election on January 5, 2013, he assumed the role of Minister of Cultural Affairs in the cabinet formed on January 12.
