Posting the same content on Instagram and Facebook simultaneously can save you a lot of time and reduce workload. This new feature from Facebook allows you to add your Instagram account as a posting option. When you create a new post, Facebook automatically pushes the post to Instagram immediately when you publish the post.
For a long time, people have been asking for this feature to be added onFacebook. Now you have the option to upload to Instagram using your desktop. Most of us have files saved on our PC and it is much easier to upload the content directly from the desktop. Rather than transferring files on your mobile and then posting it on Instagram, you can skip all the hassle and directly post it on Facebook and crosspost.
How To Crosspost On Facebook
To access the cross-posting feature on Facebook, you must integrate your Instagram business profile with your Facebook page. After you have linked your Instagram account to your Facebook page you will be able to see this feature.
You can see the option at the bottom of the post creation screen when you start a new post on your Facebook page. You can only crosspost when you have a post with a single photo.
Currently, you can’t share a post to Instagram from Facebook if it includes multiple images or a video. The caption for photos will be the same that you have used for Facebook. So make sure you write your caption smartly that grabs the attention of both Facebook and Instagram users.
If you want to include hashtags in your Instagram post, you have three options:
- Include the hashtags in the Facebook post when you write it.
- Add the hashtags to the Instagram post caption after it’s shared to Instagram by editing the post.
- Add the hashtags to a comment on your Instagram post after it’s uploaded.
How To Crosspost From Facebook To Instagram
To enable Instagram sharing, click and select the Instagram option from the posting options. You’ll have to log into your Instagram account with your username and password. You will just have to log in once into your Instagram account using your computer. You won’t need to log in again the next time you share a post on Instagram.
After you have linked your Instagram account to your Facebook page, you will see the option for Instagram sharing has been checked. You will have to check or uncheck the Instagram sharing option every time you create a new post depending on if you want to share it on Instagram or not.
If you want to schedule a post you won’t see the option to post on Instagram. You can only share the post on Instagram when you publish the post immediately.
Additionally, you must post to Facebook to allow the Instagram post to publish; you can’t select only the Instagram option.
Once you’ve published the Facebook post, check your Instagram account and you’ll see the post you shared is now live on your profile. It will now begin to appear in the feeds of those who follow you.
Just like Facebook, Instagram also has the option to crosspost. You can also cross-post from Instagram to your twitter account. All you need to do is connect your Twitter account with your Instagram and start crossposting.
