Frankly speaking, there is no defined time when you will make your first $100. It all comes down to the number of website visitors you have on a daily basis. For some bloggers, it might even take more than one year to reach that landmark.
But you can do it within 2 months if you know how to do it right. There are a lot of variables that affect your AdSense earning. Let’s decode those factors and do the maths…
My First $100 With AdSense
It took me 8 months to reach this milestone and finally receive the check from Google. I have worked so hard for it and was hoping to get my first 100 dollars from Google as fast as I can. But I made some mistakes along the way and it took me 8 months to finally reach that milestone.
I started blogging back in 2013. My first website got approved for AdSense in 2014. By then I had 8o posts and more than 140 pages on my website. I expected to get enough traffic from those 80 posts but eventually, the overall website traffic was very low.
I was very frustrated and was about to give up. At that point in time, I had very little idea about Adsense and blogging. I had no clue what a profitable niche is and how can I make more money using SEO and keywords. I had some amazing articles with more than 1000 words and yet I had no website, visitors.
Thank God I didn’t give up at that point in time. There was no resource that could explain to me how can I make more money using AdSense or affiliate marketing. I did my own research and dug deeper to find out why I was not able to make enough money with my website.
The problem was I was getting very little traffic on my website. Also, my page RPM was very low and it was very difficult for me to make money with AdSense.
I wanted to make $100 every day so that I would have at least $3000 at the end of the month. Obviously, everybody’s idea of a full-time income will be different. But it is a good start if you can make $100 on a daily basis.
How To Make Your $100 With AdSense
I see forum threads every day of people wanting to learn how to reach $100/day with Adsense. What they don’t realize is that there are a lot of factors involved in making this $100 daily. The most important factor is website traffic. You need to have enough traffic to reach the $100 mark.
Getting your first $100 is easy but making $100 every day is a very tough job. A lot of work needs to be done to finally reach a milestone like that.
So how much traffic do you really need to get to $100?
The biggest metric that affects your income is page RPM. You need to calculate RPM to really understand your Adsense income for your website.
What is page RPM? Page RPM = (Estimated earnings / Number of page views) * 1000 It’s calculated based on a combination of your traffic CTR (click-through-rate), and CPC (cost per click).
Understanding RPM
RPM stands for “Revenue per Mille” (Mille means thousand in Latin). So, your website page RPM is an estimated revenue you can generate by serving a thousand page views to your website visitors. The calculation is very easy and straightforward. It is calculated by dividing your estimated earnings by the number of page views you received, then multiplying by 1000.
For example, if you’ve earned an estimated $10 from 1000 page views, then your RPM would be equal to ($10 / 1000) * 1000, or $10.
Let’s look at another calculation if you’ve earned an estimated $25 from 500 page views, then your RPM would be equal to ($25 / 500) * 1000, or $50.
The average RPM that you might experience with Adsense is about $3 to $5 for broad niches and up to $100 for more competitive niches with high CPC.
Calculating RPM
You will be able to see your RPM from your AdSense dashboard. If you get to know your RPM, you can accurately estimate earnings potentials for higher traffic numbers, as well as the amount of traffic you’ll need to make your first $100.
Let’s say, you’re making an average $5 RPM from one of your websites. That’s $5 for every 1000 page views on your site. So you will need at least 20000 website visitors or page views to reach your threshold. This is just an estimate. Your income could be more or less than that as RPM keeps on changing.
What is the average page RPM?
The average RPM for AdSense range depends on your niche, the quality of your website, the number of traffic your website gets, and the number of advertisers on the AdWords platform.
On the low end, it will usually be around $1 to $5. Sometimes, it can range from $5 to $10 on the medium end. On the higher end, that can go all the way up to $50+
How Much Traffic Do you Need To Make $100?
It is just a number game. Let’s break down the numbers even further with some example metrics to better understand your need.
We’ll try to use numbers as close to average as possible. For this example, we’ll use a $1 cost per click (CPC) and a 2% click-through rate (CTR). So how much traffic will you need to make $100 per day with those figures?
First, we need to figure out how many clicks equate to $100.
100 / 1 = 100 clicks.
If we need 100 clicks at 5% CTR, the total traffic must be…
100 / 0.02 = 5,000.
So eventually you will need nearly 5000 visitors or page views to reach your $100 mark. Pretty easy right? This is just an estimation that we made with the lowest numbers. Your total income might even be higher than that.
Bottomline
It is not difficult to make your first $100 from AdSense once you get your AdSense account approved. You will have to know your numbers and just try to be consistent and keep building more posts to reach your full potential. You might even make more than $100 per day.
